National Gardening Assn. One of the best sources of all kinds of gardening information. Their
well-known national magazine, National Gardening, is no longer published. However, their extensive information base, research
and writings still set standards for industry. NGA publishes a great "Kid's Gardening Catalog" which has been
used by teachers and families for years. And they are known for their annual national survey of gardening trends.

Common Ground Fair: A celebration of rural living, sponsored by the Maine Organic Farmers
and Growers Association (MOFGA). Always, the third weekend in September. The fair demonstrates
traditional crafts are alive and kicking in New England. The Common Ground Fair is a country fair for hip people.
You can chat with folks who will happily demonstrate their organic septic systems, their cars that run on vegetable
oil, and their do-it-yourself backyard windmills for electric power. Great place to feed the brain and the heart.
